Serena Alexander

Serena grew up sailing dinghies on the south coast, first sailing out of the Hamble River when she was ten on her first cross channel race to Deauville. She was a member of HRSC in the eighties when she bought up her young family locally. She then started a programme of sailing activities for children, Splash, at a neighbouring club and has also been an active committee member in various roles over the years. She has been a flag officer at a London sailing club with responsibility for training. Now retired from teaching, and semi-retired from education, she has returned to live in the village. She currently sails a First 31.7 and races a Sigma 38. She has extensive race officer experience and was a volunteer for the 2012 Olympics at Weymouth.
