RYA Youth Sailing Courses
RYA STAGE 1&2 6yrs+

- Requirements: No previous experience required
- Requirements: Age 6-17
The RYA Stage 1 & 2 combined course is accessible to complete beginners, and designed to firmly place youngsters on the pathway to enjoying their sailing. The course is run with a gentle introduction, building each day on the previous day's success and enabling each child to come away full of confidence through achievement.

RYA STAGE 3
- Course Cost: £270 (members) £335 (non members)
- Course Duration : 1 Week/5 days
- Times; 09:30 - 16:30
- Requirements: Should have have a minimum of RYA stage 2 skills
- Ages: 7-17
RYA Stage 3 follows on from the combined Stage 1 & 2 course. It is designed as a week long course to enable young sailors to gain more time sailing, and providing sufficient time to master the key elements of the stage 3 syllabus. Upon successful completion of the Stage 3 course, sailors should be able to place their boat in close quarter situations and have a good wind awareness.
RYA STAGE 4
- Course Cost: £270 (members) £335 (non members)
- Course Duration: 1 week/5 days
- Times; 09:30 - 16:30
- Requirements: Should have completed RYA Stage 3 or have equivalent skills
- Ages: 8-17
RYA Stage 4 follows on from the Stage 3 course. Designed as a week long course it allows sailors to bond with the newly introduced elements (crew and a foresail) and to master the techniques of the syllabus. Upon successful completion of this course young sailors will be able to confidently sail in single and double handed dinghies, and be ready to progress to the advanced modules.
Improver Week

- Course Duration: 1 or 5 Days
- Times; 09:30 - 16:30
- Requirements: Previously passed any RYA Youth Stage s 2-4
- Ages: 6-17
Between compleating the stages of the RYA Syllabus its advisable to get as much time on the water as possible. Our Improvers weeks are tailored to those who have compleated their Stage 2 and are looking to progress to Stage 3 and those who have compleated their Stage 3 and are looking to progress to Stage 4. These courses are run by a qualified RYA Instructor who will focus on developing the sailing skills needed to compleate the next Stage.

CADET TRAINING (Open to cadet club members only)
- Cadet training is formal training carried out by qualified instructors.
- The focus on these 1 1/2 hour long sessions is to refine skills learned on RYA courses, and to learn new ones.
- Sessions must be booked as a block, see below. There are limited numbers available on these sessions, and are provided on a first come first serve basis.

30% Flagstaff Trust subsidy is available on ALL of the above RYA level 1-4 courses. After receiving the initial subsidy an individual must wait 12 months before making a subsequent application. Please contact the office if you would like more details.
