Dubarry Women's Open Keelboat Championships 7/8th Sept 2013

The 2013 Dubarry Women’s Open Keelboat Championship, a weekend of yacht racing for all female crews, will be taking place over the weekend of 7th-8th September. For the second year in a row the event will be hosted by Hamble River Sailing Club and Dubarry of Ireland are once again on board as title sponsors. Dubarry has been a race sponsor since the event began in 2008, and became title sponsor in 2011.

Hamble River Sailing Club is hosting the Championship for the second year running, following a successful event in 2012. The club has a history of organising excellent competitive racing in a friendly atmosphere.

The event is both a competitive regatta, and a supportive environment for racers of all abilities. The Frocks & Flipflops party will be hosted at HRSC on Saturday 7th September in aid of Breast Cancer Care and the Hamble Lifeboat. Racing will take place in two fleets, the one design J/80s and an IRC fleet with a guideline rating of between 0.900 and 1.090.

Many boats are kindly loaned by owners to the female crews and those interested in taking part or willing to lend their boats should get in touch with the organising team via the contact form on this site or by posting in the forums.
