RYA Assistant instructor course

The Assistant Instructor (AI) course is being run for Youth Members in our 15+ group.

- · The RYA "Method" for teaching sailing
- · Group Control and Session Management
- · Instructing and coaching techniques
- · Practical teaching and sailing skills
Successful candidates will be awarded the Assistant Instructor certificate which is specific to HRSC. The AI will work under the direct supervision of a DI or SI
During the course, you will be given the opportunity to demonstrate your sailing skills in a variety of "practical on the water" sessions and "shore-based" sessions. These will enable you to practice and gain the skills and techniques to teach up to Sailing Scheme Level 2 or Youth Sailing Scheme Stage 3 under the supervision of a Senior Instructor.
