Centenary Sail Past

6th August 2019

The Hamble River Sailing Club (HRSC) is aiming to attract 100 boats to take part in its centenary sail past on the 6 August, to mark the very day the club was founded in 1919.

Anyone with a boat is invited to join the parade to celebrate this momentous occasion, and people of all ages are encouraged to get involved.

The event will take place on Tuesday 6 August at around HW Portsmouth (16.45), with boats divided into four fleets:

  • 1.Small Dinghies: Such as Oppies sailing inshore, on a short course parallel to the Hamble Quay, north of HRSC and south of the PPYH.
  • 2.Medium Dinghies: Such as Toppers sailing on a short course inshore, in the lagoon that forms at HW, between HRSC and Hamble Point Marina.
  • 3.Larger Dinghies: Such as Visions sailing with the Foxer fleet, in their normal patch on the Warsash side of the river.
  • 4.Others: The main parade will include any size boat sailing or motoring / being towed (conditions dependent) up the main channel.
If you are interested in being part of this significant event, please register here as soon as possible so that the Club can track progress towards their goal of 100 boats.
