Queen Elizabeth 1926 - 2022

The Officers and members of the Hamble River Sailing Club express their condolences to the Royal Family on the death of our beloved Queen Elizabeth. Throughout troubled times, both past and those more recent, the Queen has remained a huge strength showing that she is very much one of her people, sharing their burdens. We recognise that in sad times there is also hope and the coming together of friends and family is important. During the period of mourning the Club is still open. Our major events have been either cancelled or postponed but regular Cadet, Foxer and Adult Dinghy sailing are going ahead as normal.
The laying up supper will now be held on Wednesday the 28th September.
Our ensign is currently flying at half-mast and will remain so up to the end of the period of mourning. Members may wish to fly a black ribbon above their yacht's ensign, as this cannot be lowered to half-mast.
