Hamble River Singers
Hamble River Singers is a group of men and women who get together every Monday in the HRSC Clubhouse for an evening of singing. The Hamble River Singers started about 6 years ago, set up by Lucy Rainey. When Lucy returned to New Zealand, she left the choir in the capable hands of Bev Geen. Bev has been leading the choir ever since.
Bev Geen studied music at that University of Huddersfield and then later studied for her PGCE as the University of Southampton.. after working as a peripatetic teacher for the Southampton music Service for 9 years she was made redundant and she currently teaches music privately.
Hamble River Singers enjoy singing a mixture of genres, from Rogers & Hammerstein to Abba. Folk songs, pop songs, ballads and musicals all feature in our repertoire
We always love new members in the choir so if you would like to join, simply turn up on a Monday evening at 7:30pm (expt bank hols) or email Bev in advance. Come try us out! We charge £20 every 5 weeks to keep up the fees for hiring the club and also for music.
