Hamble River Sailing Club Training School Coronavirus Update 17 March, 2020

In light of the most recent recommendations about social interaction and gatherings from the Government, we all now have to make decisions regarding what we feel is right for ourselves and our loved ones.

At HRSC Training School, we are monitoring government and other advice daily and sometimes hourly. We know that our school provide courses that we all enjoy and the opportunity to get out on the water to experience fresh air and a healthy lifestyle that helps support a healthy immune system. However, with the very quickly changing situation with Government recommendations, we will continue to follow the advice of not attending courses at HRSC if you are self-isolating or showing any symptoms.

Going forward, it is hard to predict what will happen, however for now here are the guidelines for our upcoming courses (please note, these may change at short notice, so please bear with us and check our Facebook page and website regular):

We are currently planning to run our courses, Instructors-permitting; however we do understand if you decide not to attend.Should you decide not to attend then please click here for our terms and conditions.

To help us minimise risk, we ask that you adhere to the following guidelines when attending a course:

  • Please follow the existing guidelines regarding handwashing, use of tissues/sneezing into elbows, no hand shaking or greetings kisses, etc, and on what to do if you start to feel unwell (https://www.gov.uk/government/topical-events/coronavirus-covid-19-uk-government-response).
  • Please bring your own hand cleansing gels and wipes with you as these are in short supply.
  • It would help if participants arrive ready changed and then change/shower at home after the course, as this will help minimise numbers in the changing rooms.
  • Bags/gear may be left in the club.
  • Briefings/training and lunch/snacks will be undertaken as much as possible outside the club

The club will adhere to both government and RYA guidance in response to the virus

We will of course keep you updated should there be any material changes and, in the meantime, we would like to thank you for your support in keeping the club a safe environment for all.
