  • Cadets OB Series - The Hillhead return

On a gorgeous summer’s day we all took to the water out in the Solent. Chris Hamel was the very able Race Officer for the day; and we started with a reasonably long course with two laps to settle everyone into the changeable offshore wind caused by the various buildings. Hillhead took the singles and Hamble the doubles a pattern to be repeated in all three races, there was a wide margin between the more able

  • Baby Bob's

Saturday morning started with a blistering 3 knots of wind, so we had to postpone for a bit, but then rumours came of more wind round the corner so we went for a mass tow round to Cat Head, where sure enough there was (just) enough breeze to run some racing! We had 7 enthusiastic Oppie sailors, a couple of whom had never raced before, sailing a triangular course. We completed 3 races, with all the children

  • Cousin and Uncle Bob's

Racing for the Uncle and Cousin Bobs started slowly due to little wind, but Race Officer Chris Hamel organised a well sized course for the competitors. The top three racers from each heat qualified for the Uncle Bobs final whilst the rest of the field contested Cousin Bobs. In the first
