Cadets/ Peanuts - Picnic

22nd July 2017, 09:00 - 16:00

Session start time will be emailed to attendees on the Thursday before the Session.

Non-Members can attend two sessions, after which they must become a member of HRSC to take part in further activities. All of our cadet sessions are run and organised by the parents of HRSC Cadet/Peanut members, parents are required to attend these events, children cannot be left without parent or guardian supervision.

If you would like to register your child for one of the Cadet/Peanut Sessions please email Richard Foulkes – on cadets@hrsc.org.uk. we require the following information:

  • Name of child/children attending
  • Age and ability of attendees
  • Support you can offer (experience and/or any vessel)

This information must be emailed to Richard by 5pm on the Thursday before the Peanuts session to register your child/children's participation in that session.

If you are already on the Cadet/ Peanut email mailing list and would like to be removed, then please Richard know and your email address will be removed.

Peanuts emails are sent out a week before asking if your child will be attending – your responses greatly assist in our planning of the sessions, so that we know who is coming, what age group they are in, what ability, and what you as an adult can offer in support. Our aim is to run sessions that are fun and safe – and having this information means we can plan the sessions to ensure that every child is allocated to a suitable vessel, with adequate safety boat cover and also that you as supporting adults are utilised to the best level.

The club has great resources which we take full advantage of – however as the Peanuts sessions have become more and more popular, it also helps us to know if you are able to support by using your own vessel at the sessions – be it a sailing dinghy, rib, canoe, paddle board, etc. This also increases the experience and development of the children.

Remember also that the HRSC is a RYA Training Centre and offers a wide range of courses available to any adult or child wishing to expand their knowledge and experience. Details can be found on the HRSC website www.hrsc.org.uk. Particularly recommended are the Powerboat 2, Safety Boat and Assistant Instructor courses for adults and the RYA1 and RYA2 for the children.

As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please do contact Richard.
